In order to reference the namesake the BlackSox were labeled after, it was decided to tip the hat to the yesteryear uniforms that graced many clubs from the early 1920’s by creating a traditional pinstripe jersey with an old school script wordmark and an embedded icon, along with matching white helmets and tall black socks to complete the look.
This look has been abandoned by many youth baseball teams, as most modern teams don't have the ability (or balls perhaps?) to turn up the style meter quite like Shoeless Joe of the scandalous 1919 BlackSox could.
In order to uphold the tradition of traveling teams, a secondary jersey was needed, so to complete the BlackSox attire an updated ModSox jersey was developed that harkens gentle reminders of the Carlton Fisk era of 1982. A juxtaposition between history and style.
“If he was guilty of anything, it was playing his heart out.” - Shoeless Joe Jackson
This logo was developed around a bunch of young bat slinging, glove wielding, hip-hop listening and injured minor league farm club dropouts. A team that takes their league as serious as Snoop Dogg does his dope.
